My joint exhibition with Bettina von Zwehl at the Sigmund Freud Museum, Vienna  entitled Setting Memory (curated by Monika Pessler will open on October 6th and run until 6th Jan 2017. My solo show Temporarily Accessioned-Freud’s Coat Revisited featuring this work will then be shown at the Freud Museum London from 22/2/2017 – 7 /5/2017. The work for these exhibitions has been generously supported  has been supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England.

As part of the exhibition Setting Memory at the Sigmund Freud Museum Vienna, I invited pupils from year 2 CL, Business Academy, Donaustadt to each send a photograph of their most precious object. These photographs were then used in combination with images of objects from Professor Sigmund Freud’s desk to make a series of 20 postcards. Freud’s objects, including figurines and antiquities, were amongst the many he managed to transport when he emigrated to London in 1938 and are now housed and on display in the Freud Museum London. On 28th June 2016, to commemorate Professor Sigmund Freud’s emigration from Vienna to London, 100 of these postcards were attached to balloons and released from Sigmund Freud Park, close to Berggasse 19, 1090 Vienna, where Freud lived and worked until his exile, and is now the Freud Museum Vienna. Each postcard carried  a message asking that, if found, the postcard be forwarded to 20 Maresfield Gardens, London, the house where Freud lived for the last year of his life before his death in 1939.
