Penguin Michael Joseph are delighted to be publishing their first book with Paul Coldwell in Spring 2016. Through a selection of iconic woodcut prints, this book explores how artists have used the woodcut to shape their thinking, visualise their ideas and capture moments in history. It also delves into the manner in which artists have found ways to make such an ancient process new and relevant to the 21st century. In doing so, the book tells the story of the art form itself, in all its historical and intellectual significance, and above all, is a celebration of the medium, the artists that have contributed to its history and the extraordinary and iconic images they have produced.
