Welcome to the website of Paul Coldwell. Coldwell is a fine artist whose practice includes printmaking, sculpture, book works, and installation. The focus of his work is on themes of absence and presence, often taking a museum and its collection as a starting point for research and inquiry. In addition to his studio practice, Coldwell is an academic and appointed Emeritus Professor in Fine Art at the University of the Arts London in 2025. He is on the editorial board for the journal Print Quarterly to which he regularly contributes. His latest book Ink, Paper, Chisel, Grain is due for publication by Penguin Michael Joseph, spring 2006.
